From the Springfield Advertiser, Tuesday, 8 April 1845 A Proclamation By the Governor of the State of Missouri Whereas it has been represented to me that, on the night of the 16th of December A.D. 1842, one Augustine Wolfe made his escape from the jail of Camden county, in which he was confined under a charge of having murdered one Protector Caps, Now, therefore, I, John C. Edwards by virtue of authority in me vested by law, do hereby offer a reward of Two Hundred Dollars for the apprehension of the said Augustine Wolfe and his delivery to the Sheriff of Camden County. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of State; done at the City of Jefferson this 22d day of March A.D. 1845 John C.
