Indentured Servant: To John Oldham, was made to stay 1 year after she
became pregnant, and John Oldham paid the parrish 500 lbs of Tobacco
and raised Bryant Breeding, Patience Bastard Son. We can NOT assume that
John Oldham was his father.

Order Book, 1699-1701: (p. 85; p. 130 in original) 5 Feb. 1701 Patience
Breeden, servant to John Oldham, “presented to this Court for having a
bastard child…” she is ordered to serve her master “one yeare after her
time by Indenture”
Order Book 1704-1705: on 7 Feb 1704/05 Bryan Breeding “aged three yeares
old the 15th day of October last” ordered that this child will live with
John Oldham until he is 21 years old.
